What would you do............Guys help out?

I am so confused! So this guy i met 3 years ago( were just friends) started seeing each other. He came over watched a movie and spent the night. We just kissed that night. He asked me out on a date then he calls me and cancels the date. Then he texts me saying that he doesn't think our lives are heading in the same direction and that he is still stuck on his ex. I love him and want the best for him so i replied back that, that was fine with me if he really cared about her then he should try and work things out. I dint call him or text him after that. Two days later he calls me saying he wanted to talk. I was out with my friends so i asked him to come over. He said he shouldn't have Tex ted what he did and that he wanted another chance. i asked him why he did that he said its because he doesn't think his parent are going to approve of the relationship but he dint care because he was the one dating me not them ( He is white and i am black) and that he and his ex are never getting back together.So we made out but he wanted to have . I couldn't without a condom. He slept at my place and i dropped him off in the morning at his place and things seemed ok. We kissed and i left. i haven't heard from him since then its been 4 days! Did he just want or i am just expecting too much from him. I like this guy a lot and i don't know what to do. I don't want to call him either until he calls back.....
