It is still a mystery that grvity a force or a special case like dark energy or curvature in space-time ?
I think that gravity is not fully understood, it is listed as the weakest of the four forces by a factor of millions of times. Yet, the gravity of a black hole can crush an atom, something is amiss here. It occurred to me that perhaps gravity is a conduit for the path of light. A mive star can collapse into a black hole, that star have a gravitational field at or near the surface that bent light around it, the black hole that resulted as collapse of the star has an event horizon from which light can not escape, but the total m of the black hole is less than that of the star it formed from because some of the star m was blown away in the super nova. The difference is that the gravitational field is now concentrated in a tiny area of space and it offers the perfect conduit for a light beam. I believe this warrants further investigation.
