Commercialization of news has made us a cynical soceity?

I hope it has, because there is reason for cynicism about the biggest news media. CNN knew about atrocities going on in Iraq under Saddam, but did not report them because they wanted to keep their offices in Iraq! What good is a news source that doesn't tell the truth?
