As a student, do I have to stand for the pledge of allegiance?

I ask so because my homeroom teacher demands that I at least stand for the pledge. I feel it is a right for me not to choose whether or not I wish to stand for the pledge. My teacher says that I am disgracing the country and myself by not standing for it. She also asks me personal questions like if I was a citizen or not and if I respected and loved the US or not. I dont think I have to publicly express my beliefs in school, especially to a teacher.
