Fairness between splitting the restaurant bill amongst girlfriends?

I agree with you. I do not think it's fair at all. Like you said someone could get a steak or a lobster, while the other person just orders a salad. Why should the person that only ordered the salad have to pay towards the steak or lobster. I don't think that is right.
