Why can't we elect immigrants to be our President? Isn't this natural-born citizen policy racist?

I agree if you can be elected it shouldn't matter. To the other answerers, its not like some immigrant would just show up and become president they would need to be elected I am Canadian and our first two prime ministers were both born in Scotland but they were naturalized Canadian citizens
